PHILADELPHIA (AP) — “Jackass” cast member Ryan Dunn died early Monday of injuries sustained in a fiery car crash, and speed may have been a factor, police said.
Dunn and a passenger in his 2007 Porsche died after the car left the roadway and burst into flames, West Goshen Township police said. The crash occurred near the Philadelphia suburb of West Chester.
The 34-year-old Dunn appeared on MTV shows “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam” and the three “Jackass” big-screen adaptations. He also was the star of his own MTV show, “Homewrecker,” and hosted “Proving Ground” on the G4 cable network.

Washington (CNN) — It’s mid-June, a perfect time to visit the beach to watch porpoises play in the surf or seagulls strut the sand — or you could watch a formation of Marine Corps warplanes darting over the shore at hundreds of miles per hour.
But don’t worry — the United States hasn’t declared war on your family’s beach house. It’s just part of a major Marine Corps exercise called Exercise Mailed Fist (translation: armored fist).
The exercise is designed to test the capability of every type of Marine Corps aircraft, including MV-22 Ospreys and F/A 18 Hornets, as well as some Navy ships and Air Force planes.
The drill will stretch from Quantico Marine Base in northern Virginia to the Navy’s Pinecastle Bombing Range in Florida.
With thousands of Marines and other service members involved, it’s the biggest such drill ever on the U.S. East Coast.

E Coli in Germany equals money for Monsanto?

Health officials in Germany have confirmed that they have detected the first case of human-to-human spread of the deadly strain of the E. coli bacterium that has claimed the lives of almost 40 people.
Authorities say a woman working in a kitchen of a catering company near Frankfurt, in the state of Hesse, became infected with the bacterium after eating sprouts and passed it on to 20 people she prepared food for.
“Now we have the proof that in this case a human passed on the germ to the vegetables and then it was passed to other humans,” Daniel Bahr, Germany’s health minister, said on Saturday, during a visit to the Institute of Hygiene of the University Hospital in Muenster.
